ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that it is a welcoming sign that the government’s business friendly policies have started yielding positive results.

Talking to a delegation of international beverages companies which called on him in Islamabad on Friday, the prime minister said that the government is extending maximum support to foreign investors and business community, enabling them to play their due role in job creation, exports growth and economic development.

The prime minister urged the multinational companies to play their positive role under the Corporate Social Responsibility. He also instructed the officials concerned to present a solution to the problems being faced by the multinational companies after consultations on their proposals.

The delegation members commended the government’s business friendly policies under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The delegation apprised that the international beverage companies operate around 25 factories in Pakistan, providing direct employment to one hundred and thirty thousand people.

It further briefed the prime minister about the largest recycling system in the country and also told that these companies pay a significant amount of tax to the national exchequer annually.

The delegation was led by the CEO Coca Cola for Pakistan and Afghanistan Volkan Onguc and CEO Pepsico for Pakistan and Afghanistan Muhammad Khosa.
