ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Shah has taken oath as the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Tuesday.

President Dr Arif Alvi administered the oath to him.

President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi, on the recommendation of Prime Minister Imran Khan, has approved the summary to appoint Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Shah as federal minister,” the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had earlier said on March 29 in a Tweet.

Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Shah was elected as member of the National Assembly from Punjab’s NA-118 (Nankana Sahib-II) Constituency on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ticket.

Ijaz Shah formerly served as the Director General of Intelligence Bureau (IB) from 2004 to 2008. He was a long-term close associate of the former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf.
