ATTOCK, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad has said that billions of rupees are being spent for the provision of best healthcare facilities to the people.
While addressing a ‘Health Convention’ organized by the Health Department on Saturday in Attock, the minister said that the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was utilizing maximum resources for the provision of health facilities.
The minister said that the steps taken in that regard included equipping government hospitals with the latest medical equipment and ambulance, provision of medicines, and hiring of doctors and para-medical staff at better salary packages.
Sheikh Aftab said that to ensure better health services, a modern monitoring system had also been devised. Complaints were being redressed on priority and the responsible were penalized, he added.
The minister for parliamentary affairs said that the Pakistan Baitul Maal provided up to Rs 1 million for the treatment of poor patients and in case of more expenditure the prime minister sanctioned more funds. The Health Cards had also been issued to the poor patients which was a great relief, he added.
The CEO Health Dr Malik Ibadat, Dr Mohsin Ashraf, and Dr Asif Niazi also addressed the convention.
