ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday directed to expedite the groundwork for establishment of university in all districts.
While presiding over a meeting to review various projects of Higher Education Commission (HEC) here, he also directed the HEC to prepare a strategic framework of 2025 for the higher education.
Ahsan Iqbal said that guidelines for the building code of these universities should be prepared, adding, quality should not be compromised to open a university at any district.
He also directed to ensure provision of basic facilities for the students in every university.
The Minister informed that the federal government has enhanced budget for the HEC from Rs 48 billion to Rs 78 billion.
He also instructed to set up technology innovation fund as early as possible.
