ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has presided over the High Power Selection Board (HPSB) meeting in Islamabad, which approved the promotion of 20 officers from grade 21 to grade 22 (promotion of bureaucrats).

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Establishment Shehzad Arbab, the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Azam Khan, the Cabinet Secretary Fazal Abbas Mekan and the Establishment Division Secretary Doctor Ejaz Munir.

During the meeting, issues related to administration, police, information, foreign service, secretariat and other groups came under discussion.

Sources said that the meeting gave its approval for the promotion of senior officers of police group, information, district management group (DMG), and other groups.

Promotion of bureaucrats

They said that the approval was accorded to promote 20 officers from grade 21 to grade 22.

The notifications in this regard will be issued this week after the Establishment Division receives the minutes of the meeting, they said.

Sources said that those grade-21 officers who would be promoted to grade 22 include among others AD Khawaja and Hussain Asghar of Police Services of Pakistan (PSP), Shafqat Jalil of Information Group (who is currently the Additional Secretary Incharge, Ministry of Information), Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary Azam Khan, Asad Hayauddin, Hanif Orakzai, Mohammad Asif, Naseem Nawaz, Mohammad Aslam and Zafar Hassan.
