Pakistan ArmyGeneral Bajwa’s views about Pakistan Army’s combat worthiness quoted out of context:...

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) has said that recently, there have been discussions in media on Pakistan Army’s combat worthiness in view of the condition of certain weapon systems on its inventory.

In a statement on Friday, the ISPR said that to this end, views of former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on future threat to Pakistan, which he shared with media persons in an off the record interactive session, have been quoted out of the context.

The ISPR said that army assures the people of Pakistan that we always took and will continue to take pride in our operational preparedness and utmost combat worthiness.

It said that Pakistan’s armed forces always did and will continue to keep their weapons, equipment and battle-hardened human resource ever ready for the defence of motherland.

The ISPR statement comes days after senior journalist Hamid Mir claimed in an interview with a local television channel that the former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa told a bunch of journalists in 2021 that the Pakistan Army was not capable of combat.
