BAKU, Azerbaijan: President Ilham Aliyev met with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) of Pakistan General Zubair Mahmood Hayat who has arrived to attend the military parade dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to official media, the President Ilham Aliyev was of the view that participation of Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat at the military parade dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan is an indicator of brotherhood and partnership relations between our countries.

   

Noting that our two countries always support each other, the head of state praised Pakistan’s non-establishment of diplomatic relations with Armenia due to occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia and noted that it demonstrates brotherhood between our peoples and the people of Azerbaijan.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat conveyed the best wishes of the Pakistani government, people and the Armed Forces to President Ilham Aliyev.

Zubair Mahmood Hayat said that relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are based on historical and cultural foundations and both countries are like two brothers.

It may be mentioned that a military parade dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan will be held at the Azadlig Square Baku on June 26 which will be attended by around 4,000 servicemen.

Military parade will include exhibition and road show of military hardware including armored vehicles, missile, artillery systems, air defense systems, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. The parade will also be attended by up to 100 representatives from the Turkey, Pakistan, Belarus, Bahrain, UAE, Georgia, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russian, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Ukraine.
