ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has said that tomorrow’s general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan will be held in a free and fair manner.

While addressing the News Conference in Islamabad on Saturday, the minister said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government strongly believes in transparency.

Shibli Faraz said that opposition parties who are taking part in Gilgit-Baltistan elections are trying to cover their possible defeat through allegations of pre-poll rigging.

The information minister urged the media to expose these tactics and show the people reality.

Alluding to the economic situation, Shibli Faraz said that Pakistan is heading in the right direction, and all indicators showing a positive trend in the economy. Senator Shibli Faraz said that the Industrial Sector is growing despite the COVID-19 impact. He said that the Current Account Deficit for the first time in the history of the Country has declined and now it is showing a surplus trend. The information minister said that the Pakistan rupee is also strengthening and prices of essential commodities are also decreasing due to prudent policies of the government. The minister said that petroleum products prices will be further reduced for the next month.
