DOHA, Qatar: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the invitation extended to Pakistan to attend the signing ceremony of the peace agreement between the United States and Afghan Taliban in Doha on Saturday is an honor for Pakistan and acknowledgment of its peace efforts.
In a statement in Doha on Friday, the foreign minister said that the US-Taliban peace deal will hopefully be signed in Doha tomorrow, and in which representatives from 50 countries including foreign ministers of different countries will participate.
The foreign minister said that Pakistan has been invited to become part of the entire peace process and participate in it, which is an honor for Pakistan and the acknowledgment of its efforts.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that India made its utmost efforts to create hurdles in the Afghan peace agreement. However, he added that despite all that, if it is inked, it will be a big success.
Qureshi further said that Pakistan has a central role at the world level and the world is lauding its role for the establishment of peace in Afghanistan.
