DUSHANBE, Tajikistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s efforts bore fruits as two Pakistanis have been released from a Tajik Jail.
Both Pakistanis Asjad Mehmood and Kashmir Ali were serving five-year imprisonment in a Jail in Tajikistan.
It’s worth noting that during his recent visit to Tajikistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi requested his Tajik Counterpart Sirodjidin Mukhriddin for the clemency of both Pakistanis.
Both Pakistanis have now been handed to the Pakistani Embassy in Dushanbe after the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon pardoned them.
Qureshi expressed gratitude to the Tajik government and the Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Mukhriddin for extending the pardon and release of both the induvial.

Earlier this month, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told the National Assembly that 4,637 Pakistani prisoners languishing in Jails of 23 Countries had been released from September 2018 to September 2019 and repatriated.
