The Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua led a Pakistani delegation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)-Afghanistan Contact Group Meeting held in Beijing, the Capital of China.
In her statement, Tehmina Janjua reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continued efforts for promoting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The Foreign Secretary also underlined ongoing initiatives of Pakistan for engagement with Afghanistan in all areas including peace and stability and promoting economic cooperation and connectivity.
Tehmina Janjua highlighted the measures taken by Pakistan to enhance bilateral trade, transit, people-to-people exchanges and to deepen connectivity between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Earlier last week, Pakistan hosted the Shanghai Cooperation Organization-Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (SCO-RATS) Legal Experts meeting from May 23-25, 2018 in Islamabad.
Legal Experts from the eight member states, namely China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan, as well as representatives of the SCO-RATS Executive Committee participated in the meeting. They discussed ways and means to enhance counter-terrorism cooperation between SCO member states.
