Foreign OfficeQureshi asks opposition to turn Azadi March into Azadi March Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that those opposition parties planning to organize Azadi March should turn it into Azadi March Kashmir.

While addressing the National Parliamentarians Conference on Kashmir in Islamabad on Wednesday, the minister said that certain political forces should not blow the trumpet which hurts the interests of Pakistan and benefits India.

Qureshi urged them to rise above their political differences and speak with one voice in support of oppressed Kashmiri people at this critical juncture.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi appreciated the Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani for holding the National Parliamentarians Conference on Kashmir, saying this gives the message that the elected representatives regardless of their differences are united for the Kashmiri people.

The foreign minister said that today’s leadership in Pakistan will not show any flexibility on Kashmir dispute. He said that today we have the prime minister who will not make any compromise on the interests of Pakistan.

Qureshi once again categorically said that Pakistan stands fully behind their Kashmiri brethren. He said that the world can turn its face from Kashmir but Pakistan will never.

The National Parliamentarians Conference on Kashmir is being held at Convention Centre in Islamabad under the auspices of the Senate of Pakistan.

President Dr Arif Alvi, the Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Provincial Chief Ministers, and political leadership of the Country will address the Conference.

The speakers will highlight grave human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Kashmir, ongoing lockdown of the held valley by the Indian forces since August 5 when New Delhi illegally and unethically revoked special status of the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
