ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan will pay a one-day visit to Qatar on Thursday to meet the Amir of the State of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The focus of the prime minister’s visit to Qatar being undertaken as part of the regular exchange of high-level visits will be on strengthening Pakistan-Qatar bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on regional developments.
This will be the second visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Qatar after assuming the Office in August 2018. His Highness the Amir of Qatar visited Pakistan in June 2019. Their respective visits resulted in strengthening bilateral economic collaboration in diverse areas.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that the prime minister’s visit will further reinforce the ongoing process of strengthening Pakistan-Qatar bilateral cooperation.
The Spokesperson said that Pakistan and Qatar enjoy close and cordial ties based on mutual trust and understanding. She said that the bilateral relationship is broad-based and multifaceted, covering diverse fields including political, trade, commercial, defence, people-to-people contacts, and cultural exchanges.
