Foreign OfficePakistan will continue to extend all out support to Kashmiris in IOK:...

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday affirmed that the people and the government of Pakistan would continue to give full moral, diplomatic and political support to the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir in their legitimate struggle to attain their inalienable right to self-determination.

In a meeting with the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Masood Khan in Islamabad, during which current situation of Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IoK) came under discussion, the foreign minister welcomed the recommendation of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) report to constitute a Commission of Inquiry (COI) to investigate the gross and systematic human rights violations in IoK.

The foreign minister highlighted the steps taken by the Ministry and Pakistani Missions aboard to underscore the importance of the OHCHR report, and stated that Pakistan will continue to draw attention to the findings of the report at international forums.

The AJK president congratulated Shah Mahmood Qureshi on his appointment as the Foreign Minister of Pakistan and briefed him about the human rights situation in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.

While highlighting the findings of the report of United Nations Office of OHCHR, the AJK president regretted that instead of addressing the concerns raised in the Report on human rights violations in IoK perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces, India has exacerbated its repression in IoK with the imposition of governor rule and resorting to brute use of force.
