ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Monday launched a strong protest with the Afghan government over the Shahadat of five Pakistani Soldiers at a military post in Mohmand Agency and one soldier in Khyber agency as a result of firing by terrorists from the Afghan territory.

In this regard, the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission was called to the Foreign Office today for conveying Pakistan’s grave concern over the incident.

The Afghan government was urged to thoroughly investigate the incidents and take firm action against the terrorists operating from its soil to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

It was further emphasized that cooperation from the Afghan side for effective border management was important for preventing cross-border movement of terrorists and militants.

Last night, Five Pakistani Soldiers and more than 10 terrorists were in a cross-border terrorist attack on three Pakistani border posts along the Pak-Afghan border area in Mohmand agency.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a message expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Pakistan army Soldiers in Mohmand agency, and said that the sacrifices given by our brave soldiers while defending the motherland were the real life line of our nation.

The prime minister said that Pakistan would become more successful and stronger because our men in uniform were vigilant on our borders and in our Urban centers.
