BANJUL, The Gambia: The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held separate meetings with his Saudi and Kuwaiti Counterparts on the sidelines of the 15th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Banjul, The Gambia.
In his meeting with the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Ishaq Dar discussed strengthening strategic and economic relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and enhancing economic cooperation and investment.
Both the dignitaries called for a ceasefire in Gaza and emphasized the importance of OIC’s role in addressing challenges concerning the Muslim Ummah including Islamophobia and the situations in Palestine and Kashmir.
Separately, in his meeting with the Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Banjul in which they discussed strengthening bilateral relations and advancing multi-faceted bilateral cooperation, Senator Ishaq Dar underscored the utmost priority of the government to transform the traditionally fraternal ties with Kuwait into a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
Both leaders expressed solidarity with Palestine, condemning Israel’s war on Gaza and urging the UN Security Council to facilitate an immediate ceasefire and delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
