ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said the mutual good will and friendship that exists between the two countries need to be translated into strong political and economic partnership.

He was talking to State Secretary for Global Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania Daniela Gitman, who called on him here at the Foreign Office.

The State Secretary is on a three-day official visit to Pakistan to lead Romanian delegation for the Pakistan-Romania Bilateral Political Consultations.

The Adviser expressed satisfaction over the growing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, defence, parliamentary exchanges, education and culture.

Aziz also briefed the Romanian State Secretary on Pakistan’s contribution in the war against terrorism and the successes achieved during the military operation Zarb-e-Azb, as well as the National Action Plan to address the challenges of terrorism and extremism. Regional and global issues also came under discussion.

The State Secretary said that Pakistan was a very important country and partner and Romania would like to further strengthen the bilateral ties with Pakistan in all areas.

She expressed satisfaction on the outcome of her Bilateral Political Consultations with Pakistan side. She also appreciated Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism and its policy of peaceful neighborhood and the region.
