ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Inaugural Session of Pakistan-Mongolia Bilateral Political Consultations was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Monday (November 5, 2018).

The Additional Foreign Secretary (Asia-Pacific) Imtiaz Ahmed led the Pakistan-side while the Mongolian delegation was headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Damdinsuren Davaasuren.

The meeting was held in a friendly and cordial atmosphere and covered a vast range of matters of mutual interest including Pakistan-Mongolia bilateral relations, trade and business, and cooperation on multilateral issues.

Both sides also discussed progress on ongoing mutual bilateral agreements.

The State Secretary of the Mongolian Foreign Affairs also appreciated Pakistan’s gracious hospitality and remarked on the similarities of the essential cultural and historical links of the two countries.

The two sides agreed to hold the bilateral political consultations annually.

The next round would be held in Ulaanbaatar in 2019.
