ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan and Iran held delegation level talks in Islamabad on Friday to enhance bilateral cooperation and strengthen relations to achieve regional peace and stability.
The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi led the Pakistani delegation while Mohammad Javad Zarif headed the Iranian delegation.
The Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif conveyed best wishes of the Iranian leadership for success of the new government of Pakistan under Prime Minister Imran Khan, said the Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal in a twitter message.
The Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Tehmina Janjua and the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost were also present in the delegation level talks.

The Iranian foreign minister along with a delegation reached Islamabad on Thursday, and later met the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.
During talks, the Speaker said Iran had a pivotal role in uniting the Muslim world, and urged to promote Pakistan’s cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and energy with Iran.
Javed Zarif while praising the role of Pakistan in eradicating the menace of terrorism and extremism said Iran supported Pakistan’s stance on the liberation of Kashmir and Palestine.
