ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua on Friday spoke to Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi on telephone and discussed matters of mutual interest, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

During the conversation, the two sides agreed to strengthen Pak-Iran bilateral cooperation in all areas as per a tweet of the Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal.

The foreign secretary illustrated Pakistan’s continued desire for peace and de-escalation of tensions in the region.

Tehmina Janjua also held telephonic conversation with Ethiopian State Minister Markos TekleRike

Separately, Tehmina Janjua also had a telephonic conversation with the Minister of State of Ethiopia Markos TekleRike and discussed bilateral relations and the regional situation.

Tehmina Janjua emphasized that relationship between Pakistan and Ethiopia was deeply rooted in history and both sides had been maintained friendship and cooperation over the past decades.

They agreed on further expanding bilateral economic, trade and commercial relations.

The foreign secretary briefed the Ethiopian minister of state on the regional situation and Pakistan’s overture for peace and de-escalation of tensions in the region.

Tehmina Janjua also conveyed condolences on the tragic air crash of the Ethiopian airline plane and the loss of precious lives.

The Ethiopian minister of state thanked the foreign secretary for this gesture of support and solidarity with Ethiopia.
