BEIJING, China: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has underlined the need for a meaningful dialogue between neighboring Countries to ensure peace, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

While addressing a large gathering of Chinese scholars and researchers at the China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS) in Beijing on Monday, the foreign minister highlighted the recent developments in South Asia and Pakistan’s efforts to defuse the tensions.

Commenting on Pakistan-China relations, he termed this all-weather relationship as an anchor for regional stability.

Established in 1979 as a non-profit academic organization, the CIISS is one of the most prestigious think tanks of China for its distinctive historical background, diversified multi-domain teams of experts, academic quality and policy influence.

The foreign minister also met with the leadership of the CIISS led by Vice Chairman Major General (retd) Gong Xianfu.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi is currently in Beijing on a four-day official visit from March 17-20. He will participate in the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue to discuss important matters of bilateral concern including the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The foreign minister will also address the Political Parties Forum on CPEC and participate in ruling parties’ dialogue between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Communist Party of China (CPC) during the visit. He will also call on the Chinese leadership.
