ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will embark on a four-day official visit to Japan on February 24-27, 2019 at the invitation of his Japanese Counterpart Taro Kono, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported on Tuesday.

During the visit, the foreign minister is scheduled to hold important meetings with various Japanese dignitaries including the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the Foreign Minister Taro Kono, the Chairman Japan-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League (JPPFL) Seishiro Eto and the Chairman Japan-Pakistan Business Cooperation Committee (JPBCC) Teuro Asada.

Apart from interacting with the Pakistani Community, Shah Mahmood Qureshi will also deliver a speech at the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) and interact with Japanese intelligentsia.

Japan is a key economic partner of Pakistan and has made important contributions in supporting Pakistan’s development efforts over the years,” said a statement issued by the Foreign Office in Islamabad.

The foreign minister will be visiting Japan after a gap of seven years. His visit will provide an opportunity to both sides to discuss bilateral relations in detail as well as issues of regional and global importance.

His visit to Japan will also further enhance already existing friendly relations between the two Countries.
