ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent terrorist incident in Jeddah, resulting in injuries including to a Pakistani national.
Last Wednesday, a suicide bomber blew himself up in Al Samer neighbourhood of Jeddah when security forces attempted to arrest him. Resultantly, three members of the security forces and a Pakistani national sustained injuries.
“We pray for the speediest recovery of those injured,” said a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Saturday.
The statement further said that the government and people of Pakistan reiterate their full support for and deep solidarity with the leadership, government and brotherly people of Saudi Arabia against any threats to the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The terror suspect identified as Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Shehri was already involved in a 2015 terrorist attack targeting a Shia mosque in eastern Saudi Arabia.
