ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Thursday called upon the International Community, particularly, relevant International Organizations to initiate investigations into the alleged use of chemicals in ammunition by Indian forces against unarmed Kashmiris.

In his opening remarks at the weekly media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said that reportedly, Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir are using ammunition containing chemical agents and precursors to kill Kashmiri youth and destroy Kashmiris’ properties.

The Spokesperson said that charred bodies of Kashmiri youth were found in the debris of five houses destroyed by the Indian forces at Bahmnoo and Kakpora in Pulwama.

Zakaria said that the bodies were so extensively burnt that they were beyond visual recognition. He said that body of Kifayat Ahmad, one of the three martyred youth, could be identified.

Nafees Zakaria said that there were more such occurrences of crimes by the Indian army in Occupied Kashmir.

“If use of chemicals in the ammunition is confirmed, then it would constitute a serious violation of Int’l norms and India’s Int’l obligations under Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC),” the Foreign Office Spokesperson said.

In addition, the Foreign Office Spokesperson also condemned continuous shedding of blood of the defenceless Kashmiri people in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

The Spokesperson said that Indian Occupation Forces mercilessly killed 15 and seriously injured 250 Kashmiris including children, old age people, women and journalists. He said that eyes and vital organs of around two dozen young boys were targeted with pellet gun bullets.

“We condemn the killing of Kashmiris, denial of their fundamental rights and religious freedom and illegal detention of Kashmiris and their leaders,” he said. “We condemn Indian harassment of Kashmiris leaders’ relatives.”
