ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said al Said, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
The 79-year-old Qaboos bin Said al Said passed away on Friday after protracted illness in Oman.
“I extend our deepest condolences to people of Oman on the passing of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said,” Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a statement on Saturday.
The prime minister said that the Qaboos bin Said al Said was a visionary, and he transformed Oman into a vibrant and modern state.
Imran Khan said that Oman has lost a beloved leader and Pakistan a close and trusted friend.
The prime minister prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

Meanwhile, Shah Mahmood Qureshi also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Sultan of Oman.
Condoling his death with the Omani people and government, the foreign minister said that Sultan Qaboos was known as a just and noble hearted ruler.
