ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Thursday strongly condemned the car bomb explosion in Afghanistan’s Southern Helmand Province.
Earlier in the day, a massive car bomb went off outside the Kabul Bank in Lashkargah, the Capital of Helmand Province which resulted in deaths of 29 people and injuries to over 60 others.
“Pakistan strongly condemns the car bomb explosion close to the Kabul Bank branch in Lashkargah city (Helmand province) of Afghanistan earlier today, resulting in the loss of many innocent lives and injuries to many more,” the Foreign Office said in a statement issued in Islamabad.
“The people and Government of Pakistan extend their heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to the Government and the people of Afghanistan and the bereaved families,” it said.
The Foreign Office reiterated condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and prayed for early recovery of the injured.
“We firmly stand with our Afghan brothers in this hour of grief and anguish,” it said.
