ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has urged the New Delhi regime to lift the communication blackout in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJ&K) in view of the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and reported cases of affected people in the valley, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

In her weekly media briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Thursday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said that Pakistan urges India to lift the blockade in the IOJ&K in order to obtain full information on COVID-19 affected people and provision of essential items and medical supplies to the affected people.

The Spokesperson said that today is the 228th day of the lockdown faced by the people in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. She said that the Kashmiris continue to be deprived of their fundamental freedoms; their right to liberty, health, education, and food.

Aisha Farooqui apprised media representatives that in the last few days, the Indian Occupation forces martyred five innocent Kashmiris namely Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, Muzaffar Ahmed Bhat, Engineer Omar Ameen Bhat, Sajad Ahmed Bhat and Gulzar Ahmed Bhat in Baramulla and Islamabad areas.

“Pakistan condemns the inhuman and brutal repression of the people of IOJ&K by India security forces,” she said.

The Foreign Office Spokesperson further said that Pakistan also rejects all attempts by the Indian government to call the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir an “integral part” of India, which is a clear violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions.
