ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday held delegations level talks with the Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir and the Foreign Minister of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Islamabad, and briefed them on the deteriorating situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK), the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

In the talks, all participating sides deliberated upon the ongoing gross human rights violations in the Jammu and Kashmir as well as the worsening security situation in the region.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi apprised his Saudi and UAE Counterparts about the unilateral and illegal steps undertaken by India on August 5 in the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and its repercussions.

The foreign minister told the visiting dignitaries that through its unilateral actions on August 5, India abolished the Special Status of Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at to convert the Muslim majority in the Occupied Valley into a minority.

Qureshi told that such unilateral actions by India not only violate the international laws; rather they are also contradictory to UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir.

The minister told that the Indian authorities has held millions of Kashmiris hostage since one month by imposing a curfew in the entire valley. He told that the situation has worsened to an extent that the people are suffering from shortage of food and medicines.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi further said that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the OIC Human Rights Commission coming up with solid stance on inhuman treatment of Kashmiris by India is very welcoming.

Qureshi said that oppressed Kashmiris are eagerly looking towards the International Community especial the Muslim Ummah for getting rid of the Indian tyranny.

Later, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also addressed a sole Press Conference in which he apprised the media about the discussion held between Pakistani and the visiting delegations on Kashmir, and the decisions taken during that.
