Islamabad, Pakistan: There is no profile of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari available on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan. Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the following proactive foreign policy and trying to mitigate the damage done by the previous government of PTI. If someone is browsing for his profile, one can find only one photo without his credentials, educational background, and anything about his life and profile.

One can find profiles of the President, Prime Minister, State Minister, Foreign Secretary, and even of former Foreign Ministers.

Since being in the office from April 26, 2022, he has visited Saudi Arabia, UAE, China, the United States, Iran, and Davos. He has raised Kashmir and Islamophobia issues whenever and where he had a chance.  His Iran visit is considered very important because of enhancing the Indo-Iran relationship that can squeeze diplomatic space for Pakistan.

After assuming the charge on April 27, he has already visited traditional partner countries including Saudi Arabia, the United States, UAE, China, and Iran.

His kick start was to visit Saudi Arabia on the second day of assuming his charge when he visited Jaddah at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz along with prime minister Shahbaz Sharif on April 28.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the United Nations, New York from 17-19 May and has shown what a statesman should be. His casting has two generations of understanding of diplomatic norms which shows in his personality. Defending the country for garbage spread by the previous government was difficult if not impossible but Bilawal did an exceptional job and BBC reports that he defended the Foreign Policy of Pakistan in a way that no one could imagine.

This first visit of the Foreign Minister was in the multilateral context after assuming the office. There were two key meetings at the UN in which the Foreign Minister participated – the Ministerial Meeting on “Global Food Security Call to Action” (18 May) and the Security Council’s Open Debate on “Maintenance of International Peace and Security – Conflict and Food Security” (19 May)

On May 16, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari undertook a visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to offer condolences to the Al-Nahyan family, the leadership, and the people of the UAE on the passing away of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid a two-day visit to China on May 21-22, 2022 at the special invitation of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

He attended World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos on May 26 in Switzerland and met the Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian on the sidelines of meetings. Iranian counterpart invited him to Tehran.

On June 14, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari went to Tehran on a two-day official visit and held talks with the Iranian leadership including President Ebrahim Raisi on the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations.
