A fire broke out in the home of a Pakistani family residing in Al Ain City of United Arab Emirates (UAE) on April 12, 2019 in which six Pakistanis including four members of the same family, the Foreign Office said in a statement on Monday.

Also, one 50-year-old Pakistani, namely Mohammad Raheem, has sustained minor injuries.

According to initial reports, the fire started in a small room where several flammable items were stored including a generator, gas pipes, air conditioners and wood.

The Foreign Office said that the Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi has been in constant contact with the survivors and relatives of the deceased, both in UAE and Pakistan.

The Embassy officials also visited the accident site to extend necessary facilitation including for issuance of Death Certificates and Emergency Travel Documents.

The Mission is also in touch with PIA officials for early repatriation of the human remains to Pakistan.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
