ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Member European Parliament Wajid Khan and the Chairman Pak-European Union Friendship Federation Pervez Lohsar held separate meetings with the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and the Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Talking to them, the foreign minister expressed Pakistan’s commitment to highlight the plight of oppressed Kashmiri people at all forums.

The foreign minister pointed out that India has increased its atrocities in the Occupied Kashmir following the Pulwama incident. He said that Reports of UN Human Rights Commissioner and the UK Parliament’s all party Parliamentary Group on gross human rights violations in the occupied valley has shaken the world conscience. He said that these reports endorse Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir dispute.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi thanked the Member European Parliament Wajid Khan for raising the plight of armless and innocent Kashmiri people at the European Parliament.

Separately, Wajid Khan and Pervez Lohsar also met Tehmina Janjua, and exchanged views on the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Conference at the European Parliament.

They apprised the foreign secretary about the details of hearings held at the European Parliament with regard to gross human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).

Tehmina Janjua said that the European Parliamentarians belonging the Pakistani Community deserve appreciation for highlighting the Kashmir issue at the European Parliament.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
