ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: H.E. Mehdi Honardoost has completed his tenure as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan.
Following the completion of his four-year term as Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan which began in January 2016, Mehdi Honardoost held a farewell meeting with the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Monday.
The foreign minister hailed the outgoing ambassador’s services for improving the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran.
Mehdi Honardoost also eulogized the efforts of Pakistan for ensuring peace in the region and further strengthening Pak-Iran bilateral ties.
The outgoing Iranian ambassador said that he spent a memorable time in Pakistan. He expressed special gratitude to the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi for extending full support to him.

Earlier this month, Mehdi Honardoost also held farewell meetings with President Dr Arif Alvi and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa respectively.

Both the president and the COAS also appreciated and acknowledged the services rendered by the outgoing Iranian ambassador to promote bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran.
