ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Secretary General of the Commonwealth Patricia Scotland visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Monday, and met the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
In the meeting, they explored avenues of cooperation between Pakistan and the Commonwealth with special focus on trade and investment, climate resilience, sustainable development, youth and women empowerment, education, and technological innovation.
Patricia Scotland is currently in Pakistan on her first official visit from July 28 to August 02, 2024 on the invitation of the government of Pakistan.
During her five-day visit, Patricia Scotland will meet with Pakistan’s leadership, members of the Cabinet, youth leaders, civil society representatives and other stakeholders.
During the Commonwealth Secretary General’s visit, the two sides would also discuss avenues to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and the Commonwealth in other areas of shared interest, including supporting Pakistan’s national development plan, empowering youth, and boosting trade and investment.
