ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Office on Thursday said the Indian army resorted to unprovoked firing at Padhar Sector along the Line of Control (LoC), martyring two civilians and injuring two others.

In his weekly media briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said today at 0835 hours, the Indian army resorted to unprovoked firing of heavy automatics, mortars and anti-tank guided missiles in Thub and Banchiran Sub Sectors of Padhar Sector.

Consequently, two civilians including Nazir and Rafiq – both from Bramla village –embraced Shahadat once a mortar round hit their house and two civilians including Saddam and his mother got injured while they were harvesting in the fields.

The Spokesman Pakistani troops responded effectively to the Indian fire. He also urged the Indian side to uphold the 2003 ceasefire agreement.
