ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday said all resources would be utilized to transform the Foreign Office as per the modern day requirements and make it more vibrant and result-oriented.
While addressing the Officers of Foreign Office in Islamabad, Qureshi pointed out that the establishment of Consultative Council was their important step which continued to provide guidance on important issues. He said they had selected 12 Missions abroad where video service would be started in order to further improve coordination between the Foreign Office and Foreign Missions.
The foreign minister said National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) was also developing a special application which would connect him with all the Officers. He expressed the confidence that the Officers would give valuable inputs to further improve their performance.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi made it clear that posting of Officers of Foreign Office would be made on the basis of performance.
Moreover, he said today Pakistan was facing numerous challenges on the external front, and they had to be fully prepared to cope with them. He also underlined the need for economic diplomacy to achieve self-reliance.
