SHUSHA, Azerbaijan: The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Secretary General Khusrav Noziri has appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting development and connectivity in the region.

His appreciation came in a meeting between him and the Foreign Minister Jalil Abbasi Jilani on the sidelines of the 27th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers in Shusha, Azerbaijan.ECO Secretary General lauds Pakistan’s role in promoting regional development, connectivity

During the meeting, the foreign minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to ECO vision and its goals & objectives.

Separately, Jilani also had a highly productive meeting with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov.

Jalil abbasi Jilani congratulated his Azerbaijan’s Counterpart on successfully hosting the 27th ECO Council of Ministers meeting.

“We reiterated our resolve to further cement Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations in economy & trade, connectivity and people-to-people contacts,” the Foreign Minister Jilani told on X.

Earlier on Tuesday, while addressing the 27th ECO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Azerbaijan, the Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani called for promoting dialogue and diplomacy instead of accentuating conflicts and divisions in the world.

Highlighting the need for peace and respect for cultural and civilizational diversity in the world, he emphasized on putting an end to wars and illegal occupations to achieve this goal.

The foreign minister said that Pakistan not only provides avenues for regular interaction, close cooperation, and strengthening of ties in the region but also remains committed to pursue the initiatives envisaged by the Organization in future.

Jilani reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to collective progress and prosperity of the people of the region.
