ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday organized a special event to commemorate International Women’s Day 2024 through a panel discussion titled “Celebrating Women of Substance”.

The panel discussion featured conversation with Ambassador Fauzia Nasreen, Pakistan’s first woman diplomat; Senator dr. Sania Nishtar renowned for her monumental contributions to public health, social welfare, and public service; Ms. Ameena Saiyid, a luminary in the literary realm; and Nadia Jamil, a relentless advocate for gender equality, social justice, children’s rights, and mental health.Foreign Affairs Ministry organizes special event to commemorate International Women's Day 2024

The event was attended by Pakistani women in various leadership roles as well as members of the resident diplomatic corps, civil society representatives & officers from various federal ministries.

Addressing the gathering, the Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Qazi expressed commendations to the women of Pakistan, recognizing their indelible contributions to the nation’s progress and their pivotal role in fostering positive societal transformations.
