Hurling serious accusations, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Asif Kirmani has said that a few top leaders within the party didn’t want see Nawaz Sharif becoming the Prime Minister for the fourth term.

In an exclusive interview with ARY News, Senator Asif Kirmani said that Shahbaz Sharif, Khawaja Asif, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Ishaq Dar, Khurram Dastgir, and Rana Tanveer used to visit London to persuade Nawaz Sharif to give an extension to the former Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, adding that these are the people who probably feel more comfortable working with Shahbaz Sharif than Nawaz Sharif.

Asif Kirmani said that Nawaz Sharif was oblivious of the fact that Shahbaz Sharif and Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan were holding secret meetings with the establishment at nights. According to Kirmani, Nawaz Sharif rebuffed Shahbaz Sharif for his secret meetings, and asked him to meet anyone in the daylight only.

The Senator said that Nawaz Sharif never initiated a fight with the establishment deliberately. He said that when a JIT was formed to probe Panama leaks, Nawaz Sharif told his ministers that he was going to resign; however, no one endorsed his decision.

Kirmani said that it was Irfan Siddiqui who coined the terms ‘Khalai Makhlooq’ and ‘Vote Ko Izzat Do’.

Moreover, he said that he didn’t cast vote for Awn Chaudhry of the Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) on February 08 but he voted in favour of PML-N MPA Candidate.

Senator Asif Kirmani admitted that there was a wave in Imran Khan’s favour, and he witnessed a much bigger crowd thronging to polling stations to cast votes for Independent Candidates.
