ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Climate Change Zahid Hamid on Tuesday held a meeting with Moroccan ambassador in Pakistan Mutapha Saladine to discuss preparations of COP-22, which is going to be held end of this year in Morocco.
“Pakistan would take along a big delegation for COP-22, including representatives of Ministry of Climate Change, Planning Commission, Water and Power, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from provinces, AJK, FATA and Gilgit Baltistan, Non Governmental Organizational, media and private sector” said by the Federal Minister for Climate Change.
“Pakistan is on 8th number on the list of countries most affected by the climate change. We are very much aware of our vulnerability and responsibilities to combat climate change effects. Pakistan is fourth country to formulate Climate Change Act. Pakistan is also establishing Climate Change authority.
Federal Minister also demanded to provide a bigger pavilion to Pakistan at the event so Pakistan can better project its vulnerability and actions taken to deal with climate change at COP-22 event.
The oroccan ambassador ensured to extend its full support in COP-22 preparations.
