Yulia who is chief of “Motherland”, party is of the view that upcoming talks among EU, U.S., Russia and Ukraine in Geneva to be held on April 17 are very important for the future of Ukraine

Tymoshenko said Russia is behind situation in eastern parts and part of  “Russian tough and aggressive strategy”. She said Russia wants that Ukraine accept legalization of Crimea in the Russian Federation and then to change its constitution on the concept of the Russian Federation, which provides, inter alia, the federalization as a basis for further split the territory of Ukraine.

She called this situation as “new colonization of Ukraine” where the Ukrainians will not decide how they live, how they build their country and how they dispose of their abilities and their resources, and the Russian Federation wants to solve it for us”, said Tymoshenko.

“The politician believes that “people who are living in Ukraine – both in the East and the West and in the South – they do not want war.” That’s right. Nobody wants to send their sons, daughters, husbands at war and no one wants to be” funerals. Understand that peace Ukrainians, in whatever part of the country they live, the war – is not allowed. But if Russia Continental will begin to cross borders of Ukraine, if it starts to implement what Russia was doing in the Crimea, but only in our Eastern and Southern regions – Today our Ukrainian army, Ukrainian National Guard are ready to give enough rebuffed, including military ” – says Yulia Tymoshenko.

In her opinion, there are two ways out of this situation: “The first way to solve – the immediate use of force, which would almost certainly lead to a sufficiently large scale bloodshed, and likely response to the aggression of the Russian Federation and the second option – a negotiation at the highest international level in Geneva. Yulia Tymoshenko is confident that Russia uses “gas” issue as “one more weapon attack.” “Tomorrow they will say that the gas will be $ 1,000, and the next day, they will block it at all. In this situation, Ukraine, unfortunately, as a separate subject of relations with Russia, cannot stop this aggression. And when many people in Ukraine expect that here, let Ukraine will begin negotiations, and let Ukraine, Russia will achieve any peaceful solution to the question – it is a utopia, “- said the presidential candidate.

Yulia Tymoshenko said that one of the basic conditions for the stabilization of the situation in the country – the holding of presidential elections on time: “Would elections should be held on May 25. No way they cannot be transferred. Because the election of the President – is the stabilization of the situation in Ukraine, is a full- the negotiation process, it is legitimate power that is undeniable. This is the beginning of stabilization and restoring order in the country. “
