KARACHI: The day of martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA) is being observed today (Wednesday) across the country with religious zeal and veneration.

As a security measure on Yaum-e-Ali, authorities suspended mobile phone services in various cities of the country, including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, D I Khan, Jhang and Sargodha.

In Karachi, the main procession in connection with the Youm-e-Ali (RA)will emerge from Nishtar Park where religious scholars will highlight aspects of the life of Hazrat Ali (RA) Mourners will offer Zuhrain prayers at Imambargah Ali Raza.

Massive security arrangements put in place throughout the procession route.

Containers have been positioned at different points on procession route to plug the link roads on M.A Jinnah Road, with over 10,000 personnel of police and Rangers assigned duty to stand guard during the procession.

Many points in the procession’s route have been declared as sensitive. The bomb disposal squad will scrutinize the route prior to the procession. Also, the snipers will be stationed on high-rise buildings.

Various sittings, public gatherings and large mourning processions are being organized throughout the country.

Lahore’s mourning public gathering will be held at Mobarak Haveli. After the sitting, a mourning procession will emerge. The procession will end at Kerbala Gamay Shah.

Mourning congregations will also be organized at Imambargah Kashana-e-Hyderia in Cantonment area of Multan.
