ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that after conducting nuclear tests, Pakistan’s defence became impregnable as the country celebrates Yaum-e-Takbeer to mark the day of nuclear test carried out by Pakistan in 1998.
It is the 17th anniversary of the nuclear tests which Pakistan had conducted on May 28, 1998 at Balochistan’s Chaghi mountain in response to the Indian nuclear tests.
The day dawned with special prayers for the peace and stability of the country, supremacy of the constitution, prosperity of the nation and eradication of terrorism.
In order highlight the importance of the day, different organizations have arranged special programmes while functions are being held across the country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan to mark the day.
In a message to nation on the occasion of Yaum-e-Takbeer, President Mamnoon Hussain said that strong defense is guarantee of national integration and national identity. He said that nuclear program is in safe hands.
In his message on the occasion, the prime minister said that Yaum-e-Takbeer is indeed a day of pride for the Pakistani nation and Muslims all over the globe.
The prime minister said that with the blessing of Almighty Allah, Pakistan has become the seventh nuclear power of the world. He said that despite world pressure, Pakistan conducted the nuclear tests in reply to nuclear tests conducted by India.
Sharif said that after conducting nuclear tests, defence of Pakistan became impregnable and the enemies could not dare to look towards it with bad intentions.
Nawaz Sharif said that nuclear tests were carried in the best interest of the country and now they will bring economic revolution which will change the destiny of the nation.
