Islamabad: Pakistan top refugee-hosting country in the world with 1.6 million registered refugees, says UNHRC report. The data released by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees on the World Refugees Day indicates Pakistan is the largest refugee-hosting country in the world with currently hosting some 1.6 million registered refugees.
According to figures, around 2.6 million Afghan refugees are currently living worldwide with the majority hosted by Pakistan. Meanwhile, UN refugee agency says more than 50 million people were forcibly uprooted worldwide at the end of last year. It says most of the people fled from Syria to South Sudan.
