Will novel coronavirus ruin the November elections? Well, all of the candidates are quite old. And as we all know, when it comes to COVID-19, old-age is basically an ‘underlying’ issue that brings the mortality rate sky-rocketing up towards double-digit percentages.
With already more than half a million confirmed cases in the United States, it’s quite conceivable that the presidential nominee from each party could fall ill with SARS COV-2 effectively ruining the November elections.
That said, it’s doubtful that will happen. We could bet good money on the fact that both the former VP, Joe Biden, and President Trump and their staff are taking every precaution possible to reduce the risk of infection.
What We Do Know
We do know that the viral outbreak has not killed it for the Joe Biden yet. Bernie Sanders recently endorsed Biden as the Democratic Party Nominee and stated that the DNC needs to pull together to make Trump and one-term president.’
The presidential election betting odds show that Kamila Harris is leading the pack to be Joe Biden’s running mate. Which, would be a wise choice considering he needs help with the African American demographic.
We also, know that despite whether or not we are still in a state of emergency, Donald Trump cannot unilaterally cancel the elections. It should be noted, that if they somehow did cancel the election, the 20th amendment dictates that the Speaker of the House would take over effective January 21st, 2021. That would mean the United States would be stuck with Nancy Pelosi as the interim president. With Pelosi being a Democrat, that is the last thing the Republican party would want to do: give the presidency away on a silver platter.
Why Did Bernie Feel the Burn of Loss, Yet Again?
It’s obviously that Sanders and his camp didn’t learn the right lessons the first time around. The New Hampshire Senator has officially suspended his campaign, and endorsed the former Vice President after being behind 83 pledges following Super Tuesday and then losing eight out of eleven states in its immediate wake.
The original Super Tuesday deficit was a fairly tough hill, but not one that couldn’t be climbed. However, after a few blow out losses, Biden scooped up a 311 delegate lead – almost impossible to overcome.
Pandemic Party
Now the presidential race is essentially down to Donald Trump and Joe Biden. And the side that seems to handle pandemic patrol the best will likely gain favor with voters. Some say the November election will hang on who can play the blame game the best. If the Democrats can convince the public that Trump and the Republican party botched the way this was handled and it cost thousands of lives, they will win in November. Conversely, if the Republicans and Donald Trump can convince the public that they saved lives and the blame lies elsewhere, namely interference, then Trump will win again.
So, far it’s looking like the Dems have the upper-hand. They have at this point, placed the entirety of the blame on the Trump administration, using Trump’s downplay of the danger presented by novel coronavirus as their focal point. They’ve also set up an oversight committee to track the use of the two-trillion-dollar stimulus package which scrutinizes the administration’s management looking for and waste or fraud.

Meanwhile, Trump and the Repubs are blaming the mainstream media, China, the Dems, and a couple of individual governors. Basically, the media lies, China has committed a massive cover-up designed to catch America off-guard and the impeachment led by the Democrats was a tool fo distraction to keep him from being able to do his job effectively.
The bottom line is this is far from over. The world is still in the middle of this global pandemic and we still don’t know exactly what the economic fall out will be. We know it’s currently affecting millions, if not billions around the world. But it could get much worse, even after the threat of the virus is gone. So, the party that takes the blame for COVID-19 in the United States will in effect, be killed by it. The one that places the blame will move on into the seat of power.
