WASHINGTON: The United States has decided to resume talks with Afghan Taliban for exchange of prisoners, a move aimed at releasing US army sergeant Bowe Bergdahl before the majority of US forces leave Afghanistan by the end of 2014, the Washington Post reported.
The US-based daily newspaper quoting US officials reported that the Obama administration has decided to release five Taliban detainees from Guantanamo Bay in exchange for the release of Bowe Bergdahl who was captured in Afghanistan by the Haqqani network in 2009.
