LAHORE: US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador James Dobbins called on Prime Minister-elect Mian Nawaz Sharif and offered congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the historic May 11 elections.

The US president’s special envoy noted that his country wants stability of democracy in Pakistan, adding the two countries will continue cooperation for the eradication of terrorism.

Dobbins apprised Nawaz Sharif of the ongoing process of reconciliation in Afghanistan.

Ishaq Dar and Tariq Fatmi were also present in the meeting.
