LAHORE, Pakistan: The United States Ambassador in Islamabad David Hale has said that Pakistan is a reliable ally of the US.

His remarks came when he met the Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique in Lahore on Tuesday and discussed matters of mutual interest during a meeting at the Governor’s House.

The US envoy also offered condolences on the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park tragedy which caused loss of more than 70 innocent lives. He said that Pakistanis have strong nerves and are a brave nation.

On the occasion, the Punjab governor said that the number of sacrifices rendered by Pakistani nation in the war against terrorism has been unprecedented in the history of the world.

The governor said that the armed forces and the people of Pakistan have sacrificed their lives for the survival of the world rather the defence of the country.
