UN’s silence over massacre of Rohingya Muslims pathetic, says Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that silence of the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other world bodies over the massacre of Muslims in Rohingya has raised many questions.

In a statement issued in Islamabad on Saturday, the minister called upon the international organizations to take notice of genocide of Muslims of Rohingya.

The interior minister said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Federal Ministers expressed concern over the issue during the Cabinet meeting.

Nisar said that the prime minister has constituted a three-member special committee to suggest measures and relief efforts for Rohingya Muslims. In this regard, the special committee will hold its meeting in Islamabad on Sunday.

The special meeting members include the interior minister, the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi.
