ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday said the uninterrupted gas supply will be ensured for domestic consumers during the winter at affordable prices.
Talking to a news channel, he said the government was striving to provide gas to the industry as well, adding that after the passage of 18th amendment, some matters with regard to commodity have to handle by the provincial governments.
Shahid Khaqan said All Pakistan Textile Mill Association (APTMA) should shun its strike and also cooperate to resolve the issue amicably.
He said Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) is so economical as compared to any other fuel, adding that it would save Rs 100 billion, annually.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on the request of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has fixed provisional price of imported LNG at $ 8.64 per Million British Thermal Unit (MMBTU), he added.
The minister said, “If Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) or any other political party has any evidence of corruption regarding LNG project, it should present before the public.”
Replying to a question, he alleged that the people are stealing gas of Rs 10 billion in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), adding, the federal government has already informed KPK government about it.
