ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has congratulated Shahbaz Sharif on his election as the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan.

In a telephonic conversation, the Turkish president wished that new change will be beneficial for the friendly and brotherly people of Pakistan and Turkey will continue cooperation with Pakistan like it did in the past.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was presented a guard of honour on his arrival at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad.

The prime minister inspected the guard of honour and took the salute. He also met with the staff of the Prime Minister’s House.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has convened an emergency meeting of economic experts in Islamabad to deliberate upon serious economic situation faced by the country.

In the light of the inputs of economic experts, important economic and fiscal decisions will be taken.

The prime minister will be apprised about the current economic situation of the country, deficits and the facts of the national balance sheet.
